WRONG The information that Ovidiu Anton Stoica, one of the Romanians who joined the International Territorial Defense Legion of Ukraine, died on the front, is not confirmed. We apologize to Digi24.ro readers for the erroneous information.

Previously, Petre Gabor, the president of the Voluntary Association Without Borders from Mureș, announced his death on Facebook, but the information was not confirmed.

In the post, Gabor wrote the following message: “We say goodbye to Stoica Ovidiu Anton who was fighting in Ukraine (Fight for Ukraina International Legion) performing missions to extract the wounded from the Kharkiv region from the front line, unfortunately his mission on this earth ended during a mission to evacuate the wounded last night, at the beginning of the war he volunteered in Isaccea customs for a few months when he saw the condition some people in the conflict zones end up in he decided he could do more than that and made the decision to enlist in the foreign legion in Ukraine, thanks to the ultimate sacrifice he made, many wounded people received a second chance, may his path be smooth and may God forgive us all”, wrote the president of the Association of Volunteers Without Borders from Mures on Facebook.

The commander of the Getica Battle Group said last week that there are 50 Romanians enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The first Romanian who lost his life on the front in Ukraine is Rudolf Wittmann from Arada.
