Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Feyenoord officials to sign manager Arne Slot. A final agreement is expected to be reached this weekend.
Slot had already announced his intention to join the English club: “I would like to go to Liverpool”, he admitted on Thursday. “Now I’m waiting to see if the two clubs will reach an agreement. I’m very confident,” he said.
According to the BBC, the value of the transaction could reach up to 9.4 million pounds (10.9 million euros). The team’s current manager, German Jürgen Klopp, who will step down at the end of the season, said on Friday that being a technician at Liverpool is “the best job in the world”.
Slot took over as Feyenoord manager in 2021 and confirmed his interest in managing in the Premier League when his name was floated at Tottenham in 2023.
Aged 45, the Dutch coach has one title and one cup (won this year) with Feyenoord.
