Travis Scott in Costinesti? Social media memes after “Beach, Please!” announced that it is bringing the famous American rapper in exchange for 2.5 million dollars

The organizers of the Trotting Festival “Beach, Please!” (BP), which will take place in July, in Costinești, announced on Monday that the famous American rapper Travis Scott, who is also the superstar of the five-day event, will participate in this year’s edition. The ad quickly went viral and made the social media rounds, trending on Tik Tok and Instagram for the week that ended.

• Travis Scott is among the most listened to rappers internationally (of the new generation), with over 70 million people listening to him monthly Spotify and multiple tracks that exceed hundreds of millions of views on Youtube, such as SICKO FASHION and goosebumps.

The post on Instagram featuring Travis Scott on Beach Please has garnered over 200,000 likes, and on TikTok it has over 1.2 million views and over 100,000 likes.

In addition to being among the most listened to rappers, he is also among the highest paid artists you could call a festival.

Selly, one of the BP organizers, told the radio station Kiss FM that they paid about 2.5 million US dollars for Travis Scott to come in July. The artist is performing in only two places in Europe this summer: in Vienna and in Costinesti.

In their reactions on social media, Scott’s fans in Romania were very surprised by the announcement made by BP and it is no wonder that the news quickly became a popular and funny topic for memes depicting the the “great American rapper” in poses and classic images from the Romanian coast.

In short, fans find it hard to believe that a 2.5 million dollar artist comes to perform in Costinesti and hardly associate his notoriety with the small seaside resort that, before there was “Beach, Please!”, was associated rather with the cheap food, kitsch and maneles or light music.

TikTok users have “put” Travis Scott in different poses, either while sells corn on the beach from Costinesti, stand in line at shaorma or is it stuck in the crowd which takes place in the summer in the resorts on the Romanian coast.

Through the first memes that appeared on this topic was a photo posted on TikTok, where they cropped out Travis Scott and positioned him next to the Costinești Wreck, with a BUG Mafia song playing in the background. The video has over 460,000 views and around 84,000 likes. The pictures where Travis is edited to look like spends “holiday” in Costinești they gathered 74,000 likes and over 400,000 views.

Some TikTok users were surprised by the fact that Gheboasă, the controversial Romanian trapper, ended up “sharing” the festival with one of the most famous rappers in the world, so memes appeared in which Gheboasă would sing in the opening of Travis Scott or with Gheboasa appearing as “the child” American rapper.
