Mioveni Cultural Center marks Europe Day with the community
Every year, on May 9, Europe Day celebrates peace and unity throughout Europe, marking a defining historical moment – the Schuman Declaration, which promoted the idea of a new form of political cooperation based on solidarity and mutual understanding.
On the occasion of this day with triple significance – Independence Day, Victory Day of the United Nations Coalition in the Second World War and Europe Day, the Mioveni Cultural Center, in collaboration with the City Hall and the Mioveni Local Council, will organize a special event on Thursday, May 9 2024, starting at 12:00.
The scheduled activities include a round table, where the students of the “Iulia Zamfirescu” Theoretical High School in Mioveni will be invited to debate and reflect on the meaning and importance of peace and unity in Europe. There will also be a thematic exhibition in partnership with the “George Topîrceanu” Secondary School from Mioveni, offering the opportunity to explore European history and values.
“This day is not only a moment of celebration, but also an opportunity to reflect on the path traveled by Europe in search of peace and prosperity. Through our events, we want to cultivate among our community awareness of the importance of European values and promote solidarity and mutual understanding”, said the representative of the Mioveni Cultural Center.
All residents are invited to join these events and celebrate peace and unity in Europe together, recognizing the importance of history and the values that unite us.
