The first lot of Transapuseana, the road that crosses the Apuseni Mountains, was inaugurated, being about 43 kilometers of county road. The vice-president of the Alba County Council, Marius Hațegan, an engineer by profession, says that “the works are grade 10”.

An investment as expensive as it is necessary. As an engineer, I can say that the works are grade 10 and “hats off!”. As the vice-president of the County Council, I convey that I have strictly respected the deadline for the completion of the works”, announced the vice-president of the Alba County Council, Marius Hațegan.

He also presented figures related to the realization of this first section: 26 thousand tons/277 thousand square meters of asphalt concrete layer, 41 thousand tons of binder layer, 44 thousand cubic meters of broken stone for the foundation, 25 thousand cubic meters of concrete used for consolidation work and 23 thousand linear meters of metal parapet.

County road (DJ) 107I, originally known as “Transalpina de Apuseni”, was later renamed Transapuseana. It is the largest investment on a county road in Romania, with a total project value of over 73 million euros, a project largely financed by European funds.

The road, 78 kilometers long, connects the municipality of Aiud (Highway A10) and the area of ​​Bucium – Abrud (DN 74).
