Vaslui City Hall handed over the site for the start of works on the Olympic swimming pool

Yesterday, Vaslui City Hall handed over the site to the builder, for the start of work on the Olympic pool. The works will be carried out through the National Investment Company. The total value of the investment is 97,129,067 lei including VAT, of which the contribution from the local budget is 1,544,544 lei.

The project will include an Olympic competition pool, a training pool, a children’s pool, 1400 seats in the stands, changing rooms and other functional and service rooms. All this will be at the disposal of all swimming enthusiasts and those who want to train in order to participate in competitions.

The investment objective was designed taking into account the requirements of FINA (an international federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee for aquatic sports competitions), so that at the end it can be accredited for European championships, world championships and Olympics.

“By organizing such national and international events, the city of Vaslui will have increased visibility and addressability, leading, in the medium and long term, to economic growth and the creation of jobs”, said Vasile Pavăl, the mayor of Vaslui.

At the same time, the expansion of the recreational infrastructure in the municipality of Vaslui is an important objective for all citizens who want to practice swimming, the pool will be open to the citizens of Vaslui, but also to the residents of the Metropolitan Area or from the neighboring towns of our municipality.
