The biggest gaming event in Romania is at the Polytechnic

The biggest video game competition in the country dedicated to pupils and students takes place, until Tuesday, at the Politehnica in Bucharest.

More than 1,200 players participate, between April 26 and 30, in the second edition of Poli E-FEST.

On Saturday evening, in the Aula Magna, the final of the EAFC 24 competition, better known as FIFA – the most popular game dedicated to football, will take place.

On Sunday, from 19:00, the final of the Counter Strike: 2 competition is scheduled, a strategy and team game, a shooter in which two teams of five people face each other over several rounds.

On Monday, three games will be played simultaneously and there will be two finals – the one from Brawl Stars, the most popular mobile game among children, and the final of the second EAFC 24 competition.

The last day, Tuesday, brings the finals of League of Legends, the most popular battle and strategy game, in which two teams of five players battle each other using different champions and unique strategies, the organizers say.

“With over 1,200 participants and 5,000 expected visitors, Poli E-FEST is the biggest gaming event in Romania, offering a platform for hundreds of pupils and students to demonstrate their skills. POLI E-Fest will connect two generations and create fascinating opportunities for young gaming enthusiasts. In a world where gaming is increasingly present in people’s daily lives, the numbers show us a continuous and impressive growth of this industry. According to statistical data, the video game industry generated global revenues of over 150 billion dollars in 2023, and estimates show that these will increase in the coming years”, the organizers claim.
