Almost 600 drivers, fined for parking on bicycle lanes TIMPOLIS

Responding to complaints from citizens, the local police in Timişoara fined more than 570 drivers who parked on the tracks for cyclists.

Many cyclists frequently report these aspects, by sending dozens of telephone or written notifications regarding the blocking of tracks with vehicles, in several areas of the city, the Timişoara Local Police reports. Recently, such reports were reported on Traian Lalescu, Aristide Demetriade, Nicolae Bălcescu, Constantin Brâncoveanu, Crizantemelor, Ciprian Porumbescu streets, on Regele Carol I b-dul, on Calea Bogdăneștilor and Calea Martirilor.

Since the beginning of this year, the local police have applied 574 sanctions to drivers who stopped or parked on the tracks specially arranged for cyclists in the city.

The penalties for such acts are between 330 and 825 lei and 2 or 3 penalty points on the license, depending on the act, i.e. stopping or standing on the tracks, according to GEO 195/2002.
