Men’s handball: Romania vs Czech Republic – Start time and who broadcasts the WC 2025 play-off round

​The Romanian national men’s handball team meets the Czech Republic in the qualifying play-off for the 2025 World Championship, and the first leg takes place on Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m., in Baia Mare.

Romania – Czech Republic is played on Wednesday, from 17:30, at the Pro Arena

The match in the “Lascăr Pană” Multipurpose Hall will be broadcast live on Pro Arena and on the VOYO platform (for a fee).

The return leg will take place on May 12, in Brno (Czech Republic), also from 17:30.

Romania’s team for the “double” with the Czech Republic: Ionuţ Iancu, Dan Vasile (goalkeepers), Dan Racotea, Daniel Stanciuc, Tudor Botea, Andrei Drăgan, Călin Căbut, Gabriel Ilie, Andrei Buzle, Nicolae Ungureanu, Demis Grigoraş, Ionuţ Nistor, Alexandru Andrei, Roland Thalmaier, Denis Vereş, Călin Dedu , Zavi Dumitrana, Robert Nagy, Dragoş Hanţaru and Liviu Caba.

From a medical point of view, of course we are at the end of the season and there are small problems, but nothing very serious. It doesn’t even make sense to complain about something like that. We must forget and give absolutely everything that is best in us if we want to achieve something beautiful and great.

From my point of view, the small details will make the difference with the Czech Republic. So absolutely every goal will count. Because anything can happen in a double at this level” – George Buricea, the Romanian coach.

• The 2025 World Championship will take place in Croatia, Denmark and Norway, between January 14 and February 2.

• Europe has 11 places available at the final tournament through the qualifications, with the three host nations already qualified, along with France, Germany, Sweden (from EC 2024). 32 teams will compete in the final tournament.

• The holder of the trophy is Denmark, the team that won the finals in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
