The case of School 6 and the construction that appeared overnight. Once lifted, the City Hall says it’s a long way to legality

After the Easter vacation, the students of High School no. 6, from Livada Poştei, Braşov, found that the Easter Bunny brought them a less usual gift – a wooden bridge over the access stairs in the school yard. And not only that: a portion of a boundary wall of the school yard was also demolished.
The construction started on April 30, in fact, and on the same day, the school’s management issued notification addresses to the Local Police, City Hall, Prefecture and the Braşov County Construction Inspectorate and also informed the Board of Directors.

Today, meeting
“In the meeting of the teachers’ council on May 2, the school collective decided to continue these steps. We believe that this wooden construction endangers the bodily integrity of the students of our school, given that they have no other access to the school yard. We consider it a danger for students to pass under that construction, therefore, we are forced to limit their access to the school yard to a minimum. Parents who wanted to see what it was all about were invited to come today (Wednesday, May 8 – no) to see that construction and that’s normal. We are keeping communication as open as possible with both the Board of Directors and the representative council of parents and then we will have a meeting of the representative council tomorrow (Thursday, May 9 – no)”, declared the director of Secondary School no. 6 “Iacob Muresianu”, Prof. Simona Moldovan.

No necessary authorizations and approvals, but difficult to tear down
In this case, things are more complicated. The spokesperson of the Brasov City Hall, Sorin Toarcea, mentioned: “As soon as they received the report, the colleagues from the Local Police were on the ground, they checked the works being carried out there. Considering that those who execute the works did not have the necessary permits and approvals, on May 2 they already filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office. This is the procedure in the case of works that are carried out in architectural reservation areas, and the area where High School No. 6 is included in this area. Next, the Prosecutor’s Office will decide to stop the works, which the Local Police also requested in the complaint, and then decide further how it will sanction those who executed those works”.
Representatives of the structure that built the wooden bridge could not be reached for comment.
In the building in Livada Poštei, students from the lower classes learn. The 6th school also has a school building on Aurel Vlaicu Street, where secondary school students study.
