This cheapening was predictable, with many of the changes in capping and offsetting legislation contributing to this trend.
Until April 1, Romanian gas producers were obliged to supply gas for population consumption at the price of 150 lei/MWh.
With a fixed supplier margin of 12 lei/MWh.
With the entry into force of the new law, the reference price dropped to 120 lei/MWh.
And the supply component increased from 12 to 15 lei/MWh.
However, it is important to note that Engie appears not to have included gas from underground storage in the population’s consumption.
