On Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 10:00 a.m., in Bucharest, there will be a debate with young people about the importance of informing and involving them in European democratic processes. The debate will be hosted by the Academy of Economic Studies from Bucharest.

Also on Thursday, 150 students from EPAS high schools will participate in an event that will focus on bringing to the fore ways of preserving the environment, the future of agriculture in the context of a just, fair and clean transition and on possible climate changes and their impact on the cities.

There will be more presentations of high school stands with the theme: How do young people see their city in 2050?, debates and workshops to present and promote innovation in agriculture, food security and food waste reduction. The event will take place at Casa Filipescu-Cesianu and will be organized in partnership with the Europe Direct Bucharest Center.

At the same time, on May 9, the European Studies Center (SNSPA), with the support of the European Parliament Office in Romania and the European Commission Representation in Romania, will organize an online pop quiz with questions about knowledge related to the European Union – May 9, 9 questions, 9 prizes.

Also, the Bucharest Metropolitan Library (BMB), through the Culture, Education, Tourism Directorate of the Bucharest City Hall, celebrates Europe Day on Thursday, May 9, through the following cultural-educational activities, carried out in the branches of its network. Details can be found here.

The “Together we are stronger!” event will take place at the Bucharest City Museum – Filipescu Cesianu House, from 11:00 a.m.

The National Museum of Romanian Literature will host, starting at 18:30, the event “United in diversity. Writers in dialogue” – guests Vasile Emu and Valeriu Nicolae.

Also from 18:30, a Europe Day event will be held at the Suțu Palace, part of the series of Thursday Conferences, organized by the Bucharest City Museum and coordinated by Dr. Cătălin D. Constantin.

From 7:00 p.m., the Dinu Lipatti House of Arts has on its program the “Music of Europe” recital, supported by Trio Europa.

At the same time, the Nottara Theater will organize the workshop “Integration, diversity and unity through art. European values”, supported by the actor Filip Ristovski.

Bulandra Theater invites the viewing public to access through social media (YouTube, Facebook and Instagram channels) the interview with the director Beres Attila, director of the Miskolc National Theater – Multiculturality and the theater that unites.

On May 9, between 20:00 and 01:00, the Arc de Triomphe will be illuminated in blue, courtesy of the General Directorate of Landscape Architecture.
