--

The Magistrates of the Bucharest Court rejected, on Wednesday, the complaint filed by the President of the Prahova County Council, Iulian Dumitrescu, challenging the decision of the DNA to extend by 60 days the judicial control in the file in which he is being investigated because he allegedly received a bribe of 16 million lei.

Iulian Dumitrescu remains under judicial control

Iulian Dumitrescu is accused by DNA prosecutors of bribery and false statements, and during the judicial control he was suspended from the position of president of the Prahova County Council. He resigned from the position of first vice-president of the PNL and leader of the PNL Prahova branch.

“In file 9905/3/2024, the complaint filed by the defendant Dumitrescu Iulian, against the DNA ordinance extending the judicial review, was rejected. The defendant was ordered to pay 200 lei in legal expenses advanced by the state”, according to the court.

The President of the Prahova County Council submitted a complaint to the Bucharest Court in which he contested the decision of the DNA prosecutors to extend the measure of judicial control by another 60 days.

Iulian Dumitrescu hoped that the judges of the Bucharest Court would lift the measure of judicial control, so that he could run for a new mandate as president of the Prahova County Council.

Also targeted by the DNA investigation are Angelica-Marilena Lambrea and Adrian Daniel Lambrea, the sister and brother-in-law of the president of the Prahova County Council, respectively.
