IRUM, the only one Romanian manufacturer of agricultural tractors and forestry machinery, has earned its reputation in the field not only through the quality of its products, but also through its constant concern for reducing the impact on the environment. During the discussions held during the visit, the effort made by IRUM to promote sustainable practices in its operations was emphasized.

One of the focal points of the discussions was the factory’s photovoltaic park, inaugurated in 2023. It consists of 5,680 solar panels with a power of 245 watts each and has produced more than 16,500 MWh of electricity to date. The impact of this project is remarkableequivalent to saving 7,220 tonnes of standard coal, saving 8,900 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere and planting the equivalent of 13,800 trees.

In addition, the factory’s contribution to the circular economy through the recycling of ferrous materials was highlighted. In the last 10 years, IRUM poured more than 6,532 tons of ferrous materials into new parts, of which approximately 4,572 tons were obtained from recycled waste. This demonstrates a firm commitment to waste reduction and efficient use of resources.

In addition to these initiatives, the IRUM Factory has always focused on responsible practices and compliance with ecological standards in all stages of the production process. With a history for over 70 years in the field, IRUM continues to be an example of success in terms of integrating sustainability into its daily operations.

In conclusion, the visit of the Minister of the Environment to the IRUM Factory in Reghin highlighted the crucial role that the industry plays in promoting a healthier environment and confirmed the continuous commitment of the IRUM company to be a pioneer in the field of sustainability. It is an outstanding example of how business can help protect the environment and build a more sustainable future for all, and we are happy to see this commitment to sustainability in our community in Reghin.
