The costs of a castor crop are not high at all and do not exceed 1,500 euros/hectare. Those who want to cultivate a single hectare of castor, must know that only the seeds cost around 1,200 euros.

In Romania, the soils are suitable for the cultivation of castor. Initially, the start may be more difficult, and production may reach a maximum of 1,500 kilograms per hectare. But over time, the potential could reach 5,000 kilograms per hectare.

Cultivation of castor oil is a profitable business that does not involve major costs. Considering the average production, the resulting income reaches somewhere around 30,000 euros per hectare. From this amount, the maximum investment of 1,500 euros is deducted, which means a profit of 28,500 euros.

Castor oil can be used in leather, rubber or paints and varnishes. It is also a very good degreaser and lubricant for machinery with large engines.

Not only the oil from the seeds can be used, but also the shavings which, after processing, can serve as animal feed.

The castor bean stem is used to produce paper, and its leaves are eaten by silkworms, according to fanatik.ro.
