The writer Radu Matei Todoran is about to release his book entitled “Transilvania. Tears and crosses” at the “Lucian Blaga” County Library, Thursday, April 4.

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., at the Principia Museum in Alba Iulia, the volume signed by the writer Radu Matei Todoran will be launched – “Transilvania. Tears and crosses”. They will talk about the book and the author: Vasile George Dâncu – poet, publicist and editor at Școala Ardeleană Publishing House, Dumitru Mălin – writer, member of the Union of Writers in Romania-Sibiu Branch, Ioan Radu Văcărescu – poet, prose writer, publicist, translator and president of the Branch Sibiu of the Romanian Writers’ Union, Mihai Posada – poet, essayist, publicist, vice-president of the Sibiu Branch of the Romanian Writers’ Union. Launch of the volume “Transylvania. Tears and crosses” will be accompanied by a musical moment supported by the musician Laura Orian and will be moderated by Daniela Floroian, librarian and member of the Union of Professional Journalists from Romania.

The cultural event is organized by the Alba County Council and the “Lucian Blaga” Alba County Library, with the support of the Alba Iulia City Hall.

Radu Matei Todoran was born on October 11, 1954, in Pianu commune, Alba county. He is a graduate of the “Traian Vuia” Technical University in Timisoara and a doctor in management in 2009, with the thesis “Ceramic Products Research and Development Management”. He was editor of the magazine “Forum Studențesc” edited by the Timișoara University Center, president of the “Alma Mater Timisensis” cenacle in Timișoara, member of the “Daco-Romania” literary cenacle in Alba Iulia, president of the “Apulum” literary cenacle in Alba Iulia, editor-in-chief of the weekly “Acum”, editor of the publications “Albaiulianul” and Pro Alba, editor of the European culture magazine ARTE, edited by the Mitteleuropa Club in Vienna and the Carașul Publications Group, member of the Society of French Poets in Paris, president of the Cultural Association ” Mirabila Sământa” from Alba Iulia and founding director of the cultural magazine ZENIT22.

He published the volumes of poetry: “Light from my own shadow” (1998), “I would like to be a birch again” (2019), “Parchments of Oblivion” (2021), “Conspiratia clepsidrei” (2022) and the volume of prose: “Wooden Bells” (2020). He publishes short prose and poetry in more than 20 literary publications in the country and abroad, among which we mention: Transilvania, Arca, Pro Saeculum, Discobolul, ARTE, Sintagme Literare, Caiete Silvane, Literatura de azi, Acolada, Orizont, Esennari Ieșene, Pozia, etc. .

Over time, he was rewarded with the Prose Prize of the Romanian Writers’ Union, Alba-Hunedoara Branch; The “Damian Izvericeanu” National Prose Prize of the Oravița Cultural Center, the bilingual (Romanian-Italian) ARTE Magazine and the Romanian-Austrian Mitteleuropa Association, the title of Knight of the Cultural Order “Eminescu-1868-Oraviţa” Opera Omnia, at the 2022 edition of Festival “Eminescu in Oraviţa”.
