Interested candidates can enroll in the selection process, between 6-31.05.2024, by completing all the sections of the Application Form in the Apply tab. In the first column, Field/position for which I am applying, in the list related to the field OPERATIONAL OFFICER/ANALYST OFFICER, please select the option “Postgraduate continuing education studies dedicated to the training of intelligence officers”.
After passing all the stages of the selection process, the validated candidates will participate in the admission competition for postgraduate studies, and those declared ADMIS will be assigned as operational officers or analytical officers, at the start of the training program (1.01.2025).
“The operative officer it has the important mission of gathering information and for this it must be able to create access to environments relevant to national security. At the core of the activity is the ability to recruit a person and convince them to provide important information.
To perform in this activity, operatives must find hidden meanings in seemingly minor details, have a good knowledge of non-verbal language and a fine understanding of human psychology.

Analyst Officer it looks at the world, understands its trends, deciphers its causal relationships and anticipates its developments. More precisely, the analyst evaluates the data collected by operative officers or from other secret or open sources, notices changes and trends in the manifestation of threats, outlines alternative scenarios of evolution, highlights implications and indicates possible options for action in relation to each forecasted scenario.
Although apparently simple, it is a very complex refining process, which involves equally the intelligence, critical thinking and creativity of the information analyst, but also a very good knowledge of the analyzed domain.
Finally, the analytical product is made available to the legal beneficiaries, in due time and according to the area of competence, to support them in the realization of strategies or action plans to prevent the manifestation of risks or the adoption of appropriate measures to promote interests Nation”, is the SRI description of the two specializations.
Candidates interested in occupying the position of operative officer or analyst officer must meet the conditions for employment in the Romanian Intelligence Service (established by Law no. 80/1995 on the status of military personnel and internal rules) and pass all the specific stages of selection.
Candidates who fully pass the selection process and are declared admitted following the entrance exam/competition will attend the bachelor’s, professional master’s or postgraduate permanent education courses organized by the “Mihai Viteazul” National Information Academy, upon completion of which they will be assigned to – a unit of the SRI.
