May 2 – National Youth Day. Since it is celebrated in Romania
Starting from 2005, young Romanians celebrate their National Day on May 2, established by Law 425/25.10.2004.
Tomorrow’s adult generation in Romania celebrates the day dedicated to youth twice a year. Since 2000, International Youth Day has been celebrated on August 12, in the middle of summer, but young Romanians also have a national day, celebrated on May 2.
On the occasion of this day, the youth usually participate in various social, cultural, artistic and sports activities organized in order to attract them to the fields of interest and beneficial to the age.
The legislative project regarding the decree of this day was initiated in 2004 by 15 deputies representing all parliamentary political formations. On October 5, 2004, the law was adopted by the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, which is also the decision-making Chamber. This is how a year later May 2 became the National Youth Day.
