This Thursday, CFR reported that a 73-year-old woman from Brănești, Ilfov county, was seriously hit by a train. The individual saw the locomotive coming but thought he could avoid the impact. All the while, a witness filmed the entire scene.
According to CFR, a terrible accident took place these days in Brănești. A woman was seriously injured after she tried to cross the railway tracks just as the train was coming. As a result of the event, rail traffic was stopped for several hours on the SRCF Bucharest line, between Pasărea and Brănești, at the level crossing located at km 27+880.
“National Railway Company “CFR” SA informs you that the railway traffic was temporarily stopped, between 10:22 – 12:07 (line II) and 10:22 – 13:14 (line I), on the SRCF Bucharest line , between Pasărea and Brănești, at the level crossing located at km 27+880, because of a female person who was fatally injured by train IC 538 (running on the Brașov – Constanța route)”, transmit CFR.

As can be seen in the clip made by the witness, a matter of just a few seconds was fatal. Unfortunately, the 73-year-old woman died from such a violent impact. The woman could no longer be saved even by doctors, according to the statement posted by CFR.
