The pedestrian and cyclist bridge will become a quality public space, and through its architecture it will represent a landmark of the city, a social and meeting space. The value of the project is 28.8 million lei (VAT included), and the duration of the construction of the bridge is 12 months.

The bridge will be a swinging, harp-style, asymmetrical one, with a single opening and a single inclined anchor pillar, located on the right bank (Brătianu Park, Double Tree Hilton Hotel). It will have a length of 91 meters and a width of 4.20 meters. Regarding the lighting of the objective, both general and ornamental lighting will be subordinate to its architecture and will contribute to the symbolic image of the bridge, bringing added value to the entire area.

Thus, the bridge will be illuminated with LED fixtures embedded in the concrete, with LED tubes mounted on the current hand of the bridge and on the soffit of the bridge. Access will be provided by stairs for pedestrian ascent/descent, as well as ramps for cyclists and disabled people, provided with horizontal rest platforms.

Pedestrian corridor

Also during the meeting of the City Council, the technical-economic indicators for the SF phase were approved for the construction of a pedestrian and cycling corridor between the Citadel of Oradea and the bridge designed in the area of the Hilton Hotel. The site is bounded to the north by the Crișul Repede river and Calea Mareșal Alexandru Averescu, to the south by CD Gherea street.

The proposed route starts from the left bank of Crișului Repede in front of the Hilton Hotel, practically continuing from the lane on the left bank of the bridge, crosses Calea Mareșal Alexandru Averescu, continues towards the southwest in the direction of the intersection of Redutei Street with Calea Clujului, crosses Calea Cluj and continue on Redutei street until the access to the East Gate of the citadel.

Strada Redutei will be transformed into a pedestrian and cycling lane. Like the bridge, the pedestrian and cycling corridor project is to be submitted for funding under the North West Regional Program 2021-2027.

Its value is 7.8 million lei including VAT, the duration of execution being 4 months.
