A number of 4,748,274 pensioners were registered in April 2024 in Romania, with 4,274 fewer people compared to the previous month, and the average pension was 2,248 lei, according to data centralized by the National Public Pension House (CNPP), cited by Agerpres.

The total value of the due pension rights amounted to almost 10.676 billion lei.
Of the total number of pensioners, 632,361 had periods of work in agriculture, the average pension being 636 lei.
According to CNPP statistics, of the total number of retirees from the public pension system, the number of those who retired at the age limit was 3,810,022 people, of whom 2,187,782 were women, while the average pension was 2,506 lei .
In April 2024, a number of 4,955 people received early pension (3,164 lei average pension), 88,382 people received partial early pension (2,302 lei average pension) and 393,804 people received disability pension (average pension 958 lei) , of which 45,015 people for the first degree of disability (828 lei, average pension).
In the same month, survivor’s pension was granted to 450,994 people (1,177 lei average pension), while 68 pensioners received social aid (530 lei, on average).
