With plenty of sun, on the second day of Easter the UV level at noon will be between 5 in the north of the country and 7 in the southern regions, including Capital and on SEASIDE. At level 7, there is a risk of sunburn after about 60 minutes of exposure.
Regardless of the time of year, winter or summer, the UV index can still have an impact. Any moderate level of UV index, three and above, requires some form of additional protection.
At lower levels, this includes applying sunscreen, while strong UV rays in the summer months may cause you to avoid the midday sun.
Especially after the dark winter months, the skin often does not yet have enough of its own protective capacity. The power of the sun in spring is also often underestimated. At this time of year, the sun is as strong as in mid-August.
During the summer months, in Romania the UV index often reaches high levels almost every sunny day. Even on a cloudy day, UV levels can still be high, as ultraviolet radiation can be reflected and scattered by clouds.
