At midnight, the faithful received light from the priests and listened to the evangelical account of the Resurrection of the Lord in front of the churches. Christ Is Risen!

Orthodox and Greek-Catholic Christians in Romania celebrate today the Resurrection of the Lord, the greatest Christian holiday.

The faithful went to the church where they received the holy light at midnight.

This was brought to the country during the evening from the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and offered at the Otopeni airport to the delegations of the country’s dioceses.

At the Resurrection service, Patriarch Daniel addressed a word about the “Resurrection of Christ as the foundation of the resurrection of all people”.

In the word, His Beatitude highlighted three great truths related to the Resurrection of Christ.

“The first truth. The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is not His return to the earthly life before death, but His transition to another way of existence, called eternal heavenly life.

“The second truth. The risen Jesus is completely free from all the determinisms of the material and social world. No one and nothing can restrain Him. No space, no time, no material wound, no created being.

“The third truth. Jesus who rose from the dead, although he ascended to heaven in glory, is always present in the world, where he is called, that is, in his Church. He is present in the world through his Gospel, through the Holy Mysteries and through the Saints His”.

In Sibiu, the Resurrection Service was also celebrated in the Astra Museum in the Dumbrava Forest, on the outskirts of the city, the largest open-air museum in our country.
