The Summer University returns with a new edition. Students will learn what it’s like to be a student

Students interested in seeing what student life is like can also participate this year in the West Summer University (WSU) project, the summer university intended for students from the age of minimum 16 years old, organized at the West University of Timișoara (UVT), which simulates all aspects of student life. This year, this one will take place between 18.07.2024 – 03.08.2024, and registrations are open until 12.05.2024, on the website www.wsu.osut.ro.

Students from all over the country have the opportunity to experience student life for two weeks, participating in introductory educational activities supported by university teaching staff, for each field of study of the 11 faculties of the Western University of Timișoara, in counseling activities and career guidance prepared by the specialists of the Career Counseling and Guidance Center (CCOC) of UVT, to non-formal education and personal development activities, as well as to cultural, recreational, sports and socialization activities, through which they will discover all the secrets of the center university of Timișoara.

In this way, the project aims to contribute to the reduction of university dropout by supporting students to make informed and responsible decisions about continuing their studies in university education. The West Summer University project is organized through the collaboration between the West University of Timișoara (UVT) and the Student Organization of the West University of Timișoara (OSUT), benefiting from funding through the University Grants Scheme within the ROSE Secondary Education Program. Thus, for students studying in high schools eligible for funding under the ROSE Secondary Education Program, participation in West Summer University is free.

For students studying in high schools ineligible for funding under the ROSE program, the participation fee will be 200 lei. All participants will be provided with accommodation in a UVT dormitory, meals and attendance at all activities throughout the duration of the project.
