Gymnastics: Romania, 4th place in the team finals of the European Championship

On Sunday, the Romanian team ranked 4th in the final of the European Championship in Rimini. Continental gold returned to Italy.

With a total score of 156,397, the tricolor Sabrina Maneca Voinea, Ana Maria Bărbosu, Lilia Cosman and Amalia Ghigoartă ended the final in 4th place, just like in the qualifications, when they had more than two points more (158,798).

The gold medal went to Italy (164,162), the silver to Great Britain (162,162) and the bronze was won by France (158,796).

Romania ended its participation at the EC in Rimini with two medals in the individual finals, both silver, obtained by Sabrina Maneca Voinea on beam and floor. She ranked 4th in the individual-compound and in the same position were Lilia Cosman on the beam and Ana Bărbosu on the vault.

Beyond the results, the EC in Rimini was an important testing stage for the tricolor seniors, who are qualified with the team for the Olympic Games in Paris.

At the competition in Rimini, in the junior apparatus finals, also on Sunday, the small tricolors obtained the results: Anamaria Mihăescu – vaults (8th place, 12.566) and beam (6th place, 11.566), respectively Alexia Blănaru – beam (8th place, 10,566).

In the junior team ranking, Romania finished in 8th place (142,063 points).
