“Last night, around 12:30, myself and the deputy director were called that nine children had presented themselves at the “Louis Țurcanu” hospital, with symptoms of diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, altered general condition and who had only one thing in common: Constantin Diaconovici Loga National College. Therefore, I was asked by the doctors if there is a specific source or if we suspect something. Obviously not. The number of cases increased, which forced us, the Board of Directors of the college, to suspend classes for today, with a number of 20 colleagues, 21 including me. I had such symptoms”declared the director of Constantin “Diaconovici Loga” College, Violeta Bontilă.

For now, it is not known what exactly caused the intoxications. The high school does not have a canteen, the director of the educational unit mentioned.

A possible source could be water from school dispensers.

“Doctors from the “Louis Țurcanu” Hospital were unable to express themselves on some special common elements. There are children who have classes on the ground floor, others who have classes upstairs. Others who were not at school during the day yesterday and yet developed symptoms. Others drank water from purifiers, others did not drink water from purifiers. Therefore, it is very difficult to determine the cause of these unpleasant symptoms. We don’t have a canteen, obviously, or a kiosk”stated the director of Constantin “Diaconovici Loga” College, Violeta Bontilă.

The representatives of the high school in Timișoara say that they are in permanent contact with the representatives of the hospital where dozens of students are hospitalized.
