The latest CURS survey places the PSD-PNL Alliance at 53% in voting intention, followed by Dreapta Unită and AUR, with 14% each. The party led by George Simion decreased in the preferences of Romanians by 7% since the last CURS survey.

SOS (Diana Șoșoacă’s party) and UDMR, with 5% each, are on the next places in terms of voting intention for the European Parliament. PUSL, co-controlled by Dan Voiculescu, with Piedone as the main exponent, is placed at 4%.

When asked who they would vote for in the local elections, 35% of those interviewed indicated PSD, 21% PNL, 13% each Dreapta Unită and AUR, and 5% UDMR. Soșoacă’s party and PUSL are placed at 4%. Other parties, with less than 2% each, without being nominated, were indicated by 5% of the respondents.

Related to the main problems of the country that should be addressed as a priority by the Government, 21% of those interviewed pointed to incomes and living standards, 10% indicated health, 10% corruption, 10% inflation, prices.

Another 9% referred to the economy/industry, 8% jobs, 6% education. Next up are infrastructure (4%), citizen safety (3%), war (3%), political class (2%) and agriculture (1%). 8% selected the option I don’t know/don’t answer, and 5% others.

The survey shows that 47% of those interviewed believe that the locality where they live is heading in a good direction, while 46% have the opposite opinion. 7% selected the option I don’t know/don’t answer.

In the same survey, Romanians were asked if they knew that our country won the trial with Gabriel Resources in the Roșia Montana case and that this company should pay Romania 10 million dollars in court costs. A percentage of 65% of those surveyed responded affirmatively and negatively only in proportion to 28%.

Asked whose credit it is, overwhelmingly, the respondents indicated the lawyers and experts who worked on this case (42%), the protesters (10%), the current Government (9%). 4% said it was “lucky”.

CURS survey methodology

1,067 adults over the age of 18 responded to the CURS survey. Maximum margin of error for the entire sample: +/-3% at a 95% confidence level. The data collection method is face-to-face, at the respondents’ homes.
