Dan Petrescu begins the “cleaning” at CFR Cluj. Seven players OUT!

The “Badger” is preparing for his fourth term as head coach at CFR Cluj, after he has already agreed to return to Gruia.

Dan Petrescu returned to CFR Cluj’s training today, although his contract only starts in the summer.

The technician was also involved in the preparation of the duel with Sepsi, won by “Feroviari” 2-1.

At least that’s what Ioan Varga, the owner of CFR Cluj, told Digisport.

Petrescu is already choosing his players for the next season, and some of those currently on the team will no longer continue from the next season.

Besides Cristi Manea, the second on the list is Cristian Bălgrădean, whose contract expires in the summer.

Having reached the age of 36, the goalkeeper has been under contract with CFR since July 2020, but has not played in an official match since November 10, 2022, when he played 90 minutes in the Cup victory, score 5- 0, against those from Dumbrăvița.

Another player to leave is Panagiotis Tachtsidis.

Even though he was a core player in his very first season with the team, the 33-year-old Greek has already announced his departure.

Anton Kresic will also leave, most likely, from CFR.

The Croatian footballer’s loan expires and he will return to Rijeka.

Another centre-back on the verge of starting is Alan Aussi. The Ukrainian has been on loan from Ponferradina B this winter, but has only played 11 minutes so far.

Petar Mamic also has a contract with CFR Cluj until the summer. The Croatian defender has not impressed in the 4 games played, but there is an option to extend his contract.

The last one on the list is Omar El Kaddouri, the “pearl” of Ioan Varga. The Moroccan would not be to Dan Petrescu’s liking, and thus he could prematurely end his adventure in Gruia.
