Simona Halep received a wild card for Trophee Clarins, a tournament that will take place in Paris

Simona Halep, who returned to competition in March after a long period of suspension, received an invitation to Trophee Clarins, a WTA 125 category tournament that will take place next month.

“Simona Halep, who still does not know if she will play at Roland Garros, received a wild card for the Clarins Trophy”, notes tennisactu.net.

The tournament will take place between May 13-19, at Lagardère Paris Racing.

Eight Top 50 players are expected in Paris: Emma Navarro, Sloane Stephens, Katie Boulter, Leylah Fernandez, Yue Yuan, Katerina Siniakova, Clara Burel and Diane Parry.

Two Romanians, Ana Bogdan and Jaqueline Cristian, are on the list announced on the competition’s official website.

After the suspension, Halep received a wild card for the first time at the Miami Open, a WTA 1000 tournament. She did not make it past the first round there, being defeated by Paula Badosa, score 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The Romanian received a wild card for both the Oeiras tournament and the Madrid Open, but did not participate in the two competitions, stating that she needs more time to recover.
