Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, will meet, next Monday, in Paris, with the Chinese dictator, Xi Jinping, and with the president of France, Emmanuel Macron. The announcement was made on Twitter by a spokesperson for the Commission.

This meeting will take place on the first day of the European tour that the Chinese dictator will start with France and continue with visits to Serbia and Hungary, the first state visit that Xi Jinping makes to Europe in the last five years.

According to the French presidency, among the topics on the agenda of the discussions with the dictator will be the war in Ukraine, the conflict in the Middle East, economic cooperation and climate change. After France, Xi Jinping will arrive in Belgrade, Serbia being one of the countries that the regime in Beijing is trying to capture in its orbit and also a country that has been going through a slide into authoritarianism for several years.

Xi Jinping’s tour of Europe will end in Hungary, a country which, like Serbia, has joined China’s “Belt and Road” initiative, also known as the “New Silk Road”. and whose main objective is the “economic vassalage” by the Chinese regime of European countries facing economic difficulties. Previously, Italy, one of the most important European economies, gave up cooperation with China in this initiative.
