CSU Suceava secured its gate for the upcoming competitive season. After the transfer of George Șelaru from Potaissa Turda, the local handball team managed to extend Darius Makaria’s contract.
In the 2024-2025 competitive season, the CSU Suceava handball team will rely on two experienced goalkeepers. George Șelaru, transferred from Potaissa Turda and Darius Makaria, who announced that he has extended his contract. “The work done over the years in this team, not only by me, but by all my colleagues, made me continue in Suceava. And most importantly, locker room unity. I think that was also seen in our game”, said Darius Makaria. The goalkeeper from Baimăra arrived in Suceava four years ago from the French first-division Cavigal Nice Handball.
Before that he played for CSM Bucharest, Dinamo Bucharest, BM Sinfín and CB Benidorm, with the last two in the first Spanish League. Recently, Alexandru Bologa and Andrei Bruj, basic players in the current edition of the championship, extended their contracts with the Suceava group by two years. Ranked seventh in the Bison League, CSU Suceava has two more matches to play in this Bison League season. On May 16 at Baia Mare and on May 19 at home with CSM Focșani.
