After a season in which they played in the Conference League groups, where they faced West Ham, Anderlecht and Silkeborg, reporting impressive revenues, the red-blues returned in 2023 to the revenues of 2021, when the team was eliminated in the first round .

FCSB, loss of 7.65 million euros in 2023

According to the accounting balance of the year 2023, the finances collected from UEFA amounted to one million euros for the preliminary “doubles” with CSKA 1948 and Nordsjaelland, five times less than the previous campaign.

One chapter in which FCSB impresses is that of income from access tickets, which remained at the same level, a positive aspect since there were only two European matches in number.

Thus, the supporters contributed two million euros to the club, an amount close to the one obtained from the TV rights.

And the sponsors brought a financial boost. Betano and Walter Tosto WTB, a company producing industrial tanks, also present on the equipment, filled the accounts of the Bucharest club with approximately 2.5 million euros.

Even so, FCSB finished 2023 in the red. It reported a loss of 7.65 million euros, almost 5 times more compared to 2022. The impossibility to sell players also contributed a lot. Last year, Gigi Becali only paid Andrei Cordea, 1.32 million euros, a staggered amount, so that only the first installment is found in the balance sheet, of 400,000 euros.

As it could not produce other income, FCSB had to once again call for a financial infusion from Gigi Becali. And the money put into the club by the patron appears in the accounting under the company’s debt.

On December 31 last year, FCSB was in arrears of payment to its owner of almost 10 million euros, while the club’s total debt was 14.55 million euros.

1.5 million invested in the junior center

Even if, in 2022, Gigi Becali announced that he would drastically cut funding from the academy, the expenses during the past year were the same as in 2022. FCSB spent no less than 1.5 million euros with the little ones.

In the accounting report from a year ago, the runner-up had budgeted this amount, a sign that the center is on the same line as last year, in terms of investments.
