This has not happened for almost 50 years: All-time record for Ligue 1
PSG became champions of Ligue 1 for the 12th time in history and the 3rd time in a row. With this triumph, Kylian Mbappe reached 25 trophies won in his career.
All Ligue 1 teams scored at the weekend, a first for nearly five decades, reports L’Equipe.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the matches of the 31st stage of the French championship took place, and the results were as follows:
Montpellier – Nantes 1-1, PSG – Le Havre 3-3, Metz – Lille 1-2, Strasbourg – Nice 1-3, Lorient – Toulouse 1-2, Clermont – Reims 4-1, Rennes – Brest 4-5, Lyon – Monaco 3-2, Marseille – Lens 2-1.
Before Sunday, it happened that all the teams in the first French league scored in the same stage in the 1976/1977 season, in the fourth stage.
Mbappe, the last title in France
The French striker is without a doubt the main reason why PSG wins this edition of Ligue 1.
Mbappe has scored 26 goals so far, 9 more than second-placed goalscorer Johathan David of Lille.
The French star, in his last season at PSG, thus won the 25th trophy of his career, a truly fabulous milestone for a footballer of only 25 years.
Winning the title could be just the first step towards a historic season for PSG.
PSG could win the treble this year: the Parisians are already qualified for the French Cup final, which they will play on May 25 against Lyon.
In addition, they are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will face Borussia Dortmund.
The first leg will take place on Wednesday, May 1, in Germany.
