Dinamo and Ato were severely penalized after the incidents caused by supporters in the direct match: four matches behind closed doors and a fine of 100,000 lei each.

Mircea Rednic, the coach of the Arada team, had a harsh reaction after learning of the sanction.

“God, what did I do wrong? Since I’ve been at UTA, something always intervenes and we can’t carry out our activity. I’m also talking about changing the pitch, we were forced to play 8 away matches, because the ones we played at home were also away.

We made efforts, we started from scratch, a team was formed, we fought to win a place that would allow us to play more games at home and now to receive the news that we will play the next four games without fans.

On the new turf in Arad we have five wins and a draw, it is very important to play with the fans by our side. The decision does not seem correct to me, considering that we did not organize the match. Perhaps the opportunity was taken to set an example, because there was also that Rapid – FCSB, in which torches and firecrackers were thrown and what happened from the Commission?

A small fine and a sector was closed. Why exactly at this match was this drastic decision made? I don’t want to go into too much detail, but I was there at the start of the game and our supporters were challenged because torches and firecrackers were coming at them from the Dinamo supporters’ area“, declared Mircea Rednic, during a press conference.

Dinamo and UTA are contesting the decision

Both clubs decided to appeal the decision to the Appeals Committee. Mircea Rednic believes that UTA will win.

“I am convinced that another decision will be made. Because it is not a correct decision, it is not in accordance with reality. The incidents that were there were done, they were analyzed, those who did wrong must pay, those who were caught, I understand that they were questioned there”, said Mircea Rednic.
