The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas released a video on Saturday showing two Israeli hostages it kidnapped during its attack on southern Israel on October 7 and took to Gaza, according to AFP.

The two hostages, filmed sitting on a plastic chair in front of a faded white wall and speaking presumably under duress, identified themselves as Keith Siegel, 64, and Omri Miran, 47. The hostages’ families forum confirmed their identity.
On Wednesday, the Palestinian Islamist movement had already released a video of another Israeli hostage, 23-year-old Hersh Goldberg-Polin, filmed under the same conditions.
This new video is undated, but 47-year-old Omri Miran says he has been in the hands of Hamas for 202 days. The 202nd day of captivity was Thursday.
This comes amid negotiations, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, for a ceasefire in the fighting in the Gaza Strip and the release of several hostages.
On October 7, Hamas fighters carried out an unprecedented attack in southern Israel, killing 1,170 people, according to an AFP report based on official Israeli data.
They also kidnapped about 250 people. Of these, according to Israel, 129 are still in the Gaza Strip, of whom 34 are considered dead by the Israeli military.
Israel’s massive retaliatory military operation in the Gaza Strip has left 34,388 dead, mostly civilians, according to Hamas.
In the video, Omri Miran describes a “difficult situation” due to Israel’s “numerous bombings” on the Gaza Strip. He is calling on his family to pressure the government to reach an agreement with Hamas to release the hostages.
He says he hopes to be reunited with his family on Israel’s Independence Day, May 14.
