There has been and is still a lot of talk about successful economic models, about political or cultural models, about success stories meant to inspire.

We also offer you such a story on Monday, April 29, from 9:10 p.m., during the show Heritage file. Radio Romania Cultural invites you to a long and passionate journey among the Norwegian fjords, a journey through which we will discover the Vikings, right at their home, but we will also discover ourselves to a good extent.

Scandinavian boats, entered the heritage for some time Unesco, crossed the seas and oceans of the world, the Vikings reached the most remote places, thousands of kilometers from home. Hundreds of years ago they reached Constantinople, now they reach, with modern means of transport, at the foot of the Carpathians, in Râşnov, wanting “to promote cultural heritage and sustainability, offering unique cultural products”. This is the credo of the friendly Hands on History team in Trondheim. The concept that was the basis of the immersive “Go Viking Hiking” project was adapted to the Transylvanian context, based on local historical values and themes, making full use of the cultural potential of Râşnov.

The organization Hands on History is not the first to experience this kind, in recent years they have also offered historical consulting for important projects, such as the National Geographic Vikings: The Rise and Fall production, nominated last year for the Emmy Awards.

On Monday, April 29, between 9:10 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., we will find out how the specific elements of local heritage, history, customs, and legends can be used. We will find out, from our guest, Mr Rickard Åkesson from Hands on History AS from Norway, how important are the two types of reporting on the past – reenactment and living history. We will talk about the differences between the two, about the relevance of the local specifics, about how the Norwegians have learned to combine their own expertise and the knowledge of the project partners.

From their collaboration with Mihai Dragomir and the Mioritics Association, the Heritage Hub Râșnov project was born, young Norwegians, Swedes and Danes being present in Romania in recent years, to participate in the Medieval Camp and other projects aimed at valorizing the past and local heritage.

We will open one Heritage file dedicated this time to strategic and sustainable management in the field of cultural heritage, referring to the possible Norwegian cultural model.

We are, as usual, on air and online, on the frequencies Radio Romania Cultural!

A show produced by Bogdan Vișan.
