The police opened an investigation after a family from Gorj allegedly sold their six-year-old boy to a family in Germany. They allegedly demanded the sum of 8,000 lei in exchange for the child.

Outrageous situation in Gorj, where a 6-year-old boy was allegedly sold for 8000 lei in Germany.

He was allegedly taken out of Romania illegally by a foreign citizen, using a fake power of attorney.

According to observernews, the National Authority for Adoption and Child Protection made a notification based on information received from the authorities in Germany. According to this information, the 6-year-old boy was allegedly taken out of the country illegally, using false documents, at the very beginning of April.

Although the boy is currently in the custody of the German authorities and his state of health is stable, the Romanian state is taking intensive steps to facilitate his repatriation to the country. The situation is all the more complex as the child also has two brothers, who now share the same uncertain destiny.

After the details of the case were brought to the attention of the authorities, the two brothers were taken into emergency care and are now placed under the care of a foster carer. This step has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the children while investigations and legal action are taken to resolve this sensitive situation.

“Immediately the procedure was started according to the legislation in force, the institutions empowered to verify the reported aspects and intervene according to the legal competences, being, in this case, DIICOT, notified. The representatives of DGASPC Gorj went to the family home together with the representatives of the local authority to evaluate the socio-family situation. It was established following the intervention and discussions with the legal representatives that the minor in question is not at home. It was found that there are still two minors at home, minors who were taken over shortly by the representatives of DGASPC Gorj together with the Police representatives, and a special protection measure was instituted for them – emergency placement with professional foster carers”. sent the spokesperson of DGASPC Gorj, Minodora Sucea, according to observernews.

The minor would have ended up with a family in Germany

All the while, the 6-year-old boy’s parents claimed he was in Germany, without giving details about how he got there or who was watching over him. According to the previously mentioned source, the two Romanian parents would have received the sum of 8,000 lei through an intermediary, from a family in Germany, in exchange for the child.

However, the information has not been officially confirmed until now. DIICOT prosecutors took over the case and began an investigation to clarify the circumstances behind this shocking case and shed light on possible crimes.

According to the authorities and observernews, the family in question lives in extreme poverty, living in a single room in poor conditions, without windows, which have been replaced with cardboard. The problems do not stop there, as the parents have come under the police’s attention due to a family conflict that occurred due to excessive alcohol consumption. The child’s father is known to be addicted to alcohol, and the mother is said to suffer from mental disorders.
