Salvamont Gorj owns the most modern mountain ambulance in Romania – GorjOnline

The most efficient mountain ambulance in Romania intended for interventions in mountainous areas and other hard-to-reach places has been equipped with Salvamont Gorj
“The vehicle, which has been assessed and validated by the Technical Commission of the International Committee for Mountain Rescue, CISA IKAR, is equipped to transport up to five rescuers and one casualty, including full medical equipment and rescue systems adapted to different types of terrain.

The ambulance has advanced technology for communications and data analysis, including the use of drones for reconnaissance. The vehicle also has an infrared search system and transmission of images via bluetooth to the command center or to the tablets or portable devices of the rescuers”, said Cosmin Popescu, president of the Gorj County Council.
Mobile center for analysis of data collected by drones based on artificial intelligence. The ambulance is also equipped with a search and rescue drone with live transmission of images in the command center or on the monitor located on the vehicle, as well as a portable monitor for tracking the images.

The ambulance was purchased by the Gorj County Council. The value of the investment was approximately 130,000 euros.

“We have assumed the responsibility to allocate the necessary material and financial resources to maintain and develop rescue services, especially in mountainous areas and other hard-to-reach regions, which constitute more than 40% of the surface of our county. Thus, our commitment remains firm: to ensure that every person, in critical moments, will benefit from quick and effective interventions, supported by the professionalism and dedication of our rescue teams.

In this context, as part of an innovative initiative, the Gorj County Council has equipped the Salvamont Service with the most efficient terrain ambulance in Romania, intended for interventions in mountainous areas and other hard-to-reach places. This is a national first and was designed in collaboration with the mountain rescuers from Gorj”, Cosmin Popescu also said.
