A union leader from the Oltenia Energy Complex draws attention to the fact that miners and energy workers will lose money with the new Labor Contract. It’s about the production employees who work in continuous shifts, on Saturdays and Sundays. The increase granted for weekend days has decreased and “it ended up being the size of a meal voucher”.

Trade unionist Manu Tomescu, from Termocentrala Rovinari, says that it is a great injustice to the employees that this increase has been lost. “It is a right that is being lost. The increase for Saturdays and Sundays. It’s a right that should remain for employees. In this CCM, it was lost in the sense that it was 87.5%. The employee who worked on Saturday and Sunday received an increase, now in the new CCM he receives 65 lei gross amount. Net, he remains with 35 lei, a meal voucher. It’s a great injustice that is done to employees who work continuous shifts”, said Manu Tomescu, in an interview on Radio Infinit.

Tomescu emphasized that not only Rovinari employees are losing money, but almost everyone in production. “It’s not just about the Rovinari Thermal Power Plant. There are jobs and trades in continuous fire. There are several hundred employees in all subunits. Employers around the world, private and public, are looking to pay their workforce as little as possible. This is also happening today. The management of the company is rubbing its hands with joy that this increase was given up. The two trade union federations gave up this right too easily, and the upsets will come, that people will notice this”, added Manu Tomescu.

The Collective Labor Agreement was signed by the unions and the company at the beginning of this week when it was submitted to the Gorj Territorial Labor Inspectorate, which must analyze and register it.
