Guvernul Copiilor 2, the documentary directed by Gorjeana Ioana Mischie, is a breath of fresh air in a divided, increasingly individualistic society, a society made up of people whose hearts are increasingly distant. The interviews with the 19 children represent a huge dose of energy and the hope that the future sounds good.
The film is about how children see the world, the city, the house, the school, the teachers, the people. And how would a government look if they were the ones running it. Well, children, with their boundless imaginations, prove that future generations are empathetic, want communion with nature and better people around. Ioana Mischie is already known in the artistic field, but this film is a gift she gives us.
Children’s Government (en. Government of Children 2) is not only a film through which the artists demonstrated their creativity and technical knowledge, but also a cure for hopelessness.

The Government of Children project team brings together a transdisciplinary group of visionary thinkers, filmmakers, technicians, artists, ethicists and educators. They interviewed dozens of children, asking them serious questions about what their government would look like. 19 children were chosen and their answers about the world.
This is how the ministry of respect, dance or humanity came to exist.
The children’s proposals for adults are on the one hand extremely brave, but connected to the harsh reality of the world in which we live.
A child proposes that rehabilitation centers be built, so that mothers do not leave their children. To love. Another proposes the “Day of Reconciliation” and a harmony with nature.
If the Government was run by children…?!
The 19 kids are representative of a category, they are diverse, imaginative, brave and lovers of the world.
All the children interviewed referred to nature very often and came up with solutions to protect it.
And when they were asked what their classroom should look like, the children had some well-defined opinions: “You can’t put a child in a classroom without any color and expect that child to be excited.”
“I would like to be in a school where animals teach, not people. Let’s learn their language, where they live”.
Then came the question of teachers and how they should be. “Teachers should be good at heart. There should be an exam to see if they are good at heart.”
But what subjects would be in your ideal world? “Let’s learn what happens in the world every day”, “Medicine and nutrition”, “Magic” or “Time to give”.
They uttered expressions such as “conversation of needs” and expressed their desire for a balance achieved through “equal portions”.
They also propose the Ministry of Dance, Respect and even the Ministry of Skateboarding.
How about making all the buildings part of the skatepark? Let the roofs be ramps, imagines a child.
Another has a plan to avoid earthquakes. The problem would be solved if he placed a magnet between the block and the ground so that his house would stay in place in the event of an earthquake. Well grounded.
“I thought the city would be more friendly, for the sighted and the blind. Let the walls in the house be smooth…”, says another.
A visually impaired child would like a car to take him everywhere. “I would create a car for the blind. Let her drive herself and I’ll say where I want to go”.
“Although we don’t see with our eyes, we see with our imagination”, he explained.
Another little girl found a moment of birth of a city. Happy New Year! He imagined that in the city there are blocks that look like a Jenga tower (no – a game for children). Another child, a Rubik’s cube enthusiast, would like all the houses to look like colored cubes.
“The future will be better, but we don’t know when,” said a little girl.
The future already looks better.
