A road accident took place on Thursday on the A1 highway in the area of Cristian. Two people arrived at the hospital.
The police officers of the A1 Highway Police Bureau Râmnicu Vâlcea – Deva intervened in an accident on the A1, km. 259 (Cristian), on the direction Sibiu – Sebeș.
“From the first investigations carried out, it emerged that, while driving a car on lane 2, a 56-year-old man from Alba county lost control of the direction of travel, collided with a tractor unit driven on lane 1 by a 50-year-old man from Cluj county, after which he was projected into the marginal parapet”, stated Elena Welter, spokesperson of IPJ Sibiu.
Two SMURD crews were mobilized to the scene, one of which was with a doctor, an extrication truck, a fire extinguisher and a truck for personal transport and multiple victims, and a SAJ crew with a doctor. The extrication crew acted to extract a person from a car. This was handed over to medical crews.
“Three people, two men aged 56 and 81 respectively and a woman aged 75 received medical attention on the spot. SMURD crews took over the two men who suffered various injuries. They were transported to the UPU Sibiu, conscious”, stated Andreea Ștefan, spokesperson of ISU Sibiu. The ambulance also took the 75-year-old woman, who suffered multiple injuries.
Traffic is difficult in the area, on lane 2.
