In a recent move to expedite passport processing, the Pakistani government has unveiled a new fee structure for urgent category passports. This initiative is part of a larger plan to enhance passport services and improve efficiency.
New Urgent Passport Fee Structure
From May 2024, the updated fees for urgent category passports are:
- 5-year Standard Passport (36 pages): The urgent fee has been revised from Rs5,000 to Rs7,500.
- 10-year Standard Passport (36 pages): The urgent fee is now Rs11,200.
- 5-year Large Passport (72 pages): The urgent fee is Rs13,500.
- 10-year Large Passport (100 pages): The urgent fee is Rs20,200.
Processing Time
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports guarantees that urgent category passports will be processed within five working days. However, recent updates from regional offices suggest a processing time of 15 days. This has raised concerns among applicants who have reported processing times exceeding 21 days.
