Elena Mateescu, the director of the National Meteorological Administration, announced, live on Antena 3 CNN, what the weather will be like today and in the following days. She said that extreme weather phenomena will continue in certain areas of the country.
“Extreme meteorological phenomena of this type will continue because, against the background of warming weather, convective phenomena that generate rains, torrential downpours that in short sequences of time can exceed 35 liters per square meter also appear.
As it happened yesterday and as it was announced with a very high probability that on the first day of the Easter Holidays, in the western half, but especially in the north of Oltenia and Muntenia, we will have such phenomena starting in the afternoon”. said Elena Mateescu.
Unfortunately, in the afternoon and throughout the evening, these types of phenomena, showers, will appear again, especially in the mountain area, in Maramureș, in Transylvania, in Moldova, in the north of Muntenia.
“Tomorrow the temperatures will be between 20 and 28 degrees. And tomorrow these types of phenomena will continue. The wind speed will be 30-50 kilometers per hour.
From Wednesday we will notice a change in the evolution of the weather pattern. A mass of cold air will cause us to record drops in the temperature regime by more than ten degrees, especially on Thursday when a maximum of 19 degrees Celsius will be recorded and the end of the week. Only after May 15 will we record increasing temperatures with values above the threshold of a summer day with values above 25 degrees”, said the director of ANM.
