Sorana Cîrstea, Ana Bogdan and Irina Begu found out their opponents from WTA Rome
Serial head no. 28 in Rome, Sorana Cîrstea she is accepted directly into the second round and will play against the winner of the American Taylor Townsend (59 WTA) and a player from the qualifiers.
Ana Bogdan (63 WTA) will give in the first round over Leylah Fernandez (34 WTA). If she passes the US Open 2021 finalist, our athlete will face the Czech Marketa Vondrousova (favorite 6) in the second round. If she reaches the third round, Ana could face Sorana Cîrstea.
Irina Begu (161 WTA) will duel in the inaugural round with a player coming from the qualifiers. If she prevails, the Kazakh Elena Rybakina (favorite 4 – the titular champion from Foro Italico) will get in her way.
It can also reach the main table Jaqueline Cristian (68 WTA – the main favorite in the qualifications), who will meet the American Hailey Baptiste (106 WTA) in the first round of the qualifications.
