By using the WhatsApp application in work activities you commit a crime, because any transmission of data, pictures, documents or contracts become the property of Meta and, therefore, are no longer the property of the user, nor of the recipient, nor of the one who sent them sent, warned, on Thursday, in a specialized debate, the president of InfoCons, Sorin Mierlea, quoted by Agerpres.

“Interesting is that by using the application in your work activities, you are committing a crime. Any transmission of data on that free WhatsApp, of pictures, documents, contracts is a crime. Why? Because all transmitted data, photos, videos or contracts become Meta property, so they are no longer the property of the recipient, nor of the sender. Same with those email accounts, on Gmail and Yahoo. So I invite each of you to go buy a domain. It doesn’t cost much. You get it from ICI or from another public authority through which you can have your e-mail account and stop using data and information transmission.

We should understand what, after all, the dangerousness in this area really means, and the platforms that are developing at a dizzying pace, from the software area to the area of selling products and services, also come with good things, but also with less good things. It’s exactly like using a knife: the knife can be used to kill someone or it can help us make food,” said Mierlea.

According to the head of InfoCons, in the area of cyber security in Romania, there is too little talk about educating the technology user.
