The construction site that doesn’t stop even on Easter!

The teams on the construction site of the Sibiu-Pitesti Motorway do not take a break for Easter! Work on the “Daniela and Alina” tunnels in the Tigveni-Curtea de Argeș section continues without interruption, even on this holiday.

Works on the Sibiu-Pitesti Highway are advancing significantly, with the first kilometer drilled at the “Daniela și Alina” tunnels in the Tigveni-Curtea de Argeș section.

This important progress marks a significant step towards the completion of the project, which will facilitate rapid road connectivity between the two regions. The tunnels, with a total length of 2,700 meters, will represent an essential component of the section, contributing to streamlining traffic and reducing travel time.

Mobilization on site:

Although we are in the Easter holidays, the work on the “Daniela and Alina” tunnels continues without interruption. Dedicated teams of approximately 400 workers operate 150 machines, ensuring constant progress on both ends of the tunnel.

Technical details and significant milestones:

Overall length: 2,700 meters
Drilled length: 1,010 meters (580 meters on the Sibiu-Pitesti direction and 430 meters on the Pitesti-Sibiu direction)
Current Status:
- Deforestation outside the forest fund: 100% achieved
- Deforestation in the national forest fund: 62% achieved
- Archaeological studies: 100% completed
- Obtaining consents and approvals: 100% accomplished
- Construction of construction sites: 100% completed (infrastructure, installation of concrete plants and buildings for workshops and offices to come)
- Realization of the technical project for obtaining the Building Authorization: 75% (handover deadline: 15.04.2024)
- Demining operations: 100% complete
- Realization of field studies: 100% completed
Contract: Signed with PORR in November 2021 with a duration of 16 months for design and 44 months for execution
