Criminal file opened for payments within the SMT project

DNA Bacau has opened a criminal case in the case of the project with European money carried out at the level of the Municipality of Bacau. It is about SMT – Traffic Management System. According to some sources, several employees of Bacau City Hall are suspected of having made payments for works that do not exist in the field. We asked for a point of view from DNA Bacau, which confirmed this:

“At this moment, on the role of DNA – Territorial Service of Bacău, there is a criminal file being worked on, which would have as its object the aspects specified by you” DNA Bacau stated for Bacau.net

The project “Traffic management system for the prioritization of local public transport corridors and bicycle journeys” has a physical stage of only 49%, although it should have been completed on 31.12.2023. The Viziteu administration failed to finish it and staged it until 31.12.2025. The total value of the project is 121 million lei (24 million euros).

There are also problems with the bike lanes

Problems also arose with the European projects for bicycle lanes. It is about 4 projects, where payments for several equipment were not authorized. According to some sources, not officially confirmed, in this case too an investigation was opened and the state institutions requested documents.

It is about the projects “Trailway for non-motorized travel South: Center – Airport“, “Bicycle route – semicircular – Mioriţei“, “(Re)development of Prietenia Street in the Miorița district on the “residential zone” (“home-zone”) model” and “Corridor for non-motorized leisure travel: Center – Leisure Island“.
