Rivers of tears after Special Action Service policeman dies in motorcycle crash

--

A tragedy occurred in Galați on the very first day of Easter. Cristian Laurenţiu Jalbă, 41 years old, a fighter in the Special Actions Service of IPJ Galati, died innocently. He was riding his motorcycle regularly, when he was hit head-on by the driver of a car that turned in an illegal place.

The policeman was transported to the hospital, but he died.

The man’s colleagues and friends sent numerous messages of condolences and support for the family yesterday and today on social networks.

“Cristian Laurenţiu Jalbă was a fighter in the Special Actions Service of IPJ Galati. Yesterday, while our colleague was riding his motorcycle on the seafront in Galati, he was hit by a driver who turned the vehicle in an unauthorized place. At only 41 years old, Cristi left behind a wife, two children and a lot of shattered dreams. Take it easy, Cristi”, is the message posted on one of the police’s social media pages.

“Dear friends, here is that a comrade of ours, a wonderful man, a perfect athlete left us today following a tragic accident! We will carry you in our memory and in our souls, our dear friend and colleague Cristian Laurentiu Jalba! May God protect you”, wrote, also on Facebook, the leader of a police organization.

“He was little Cristi and I was big Cristi. He was extremely ambitious and always impressed me with his positive attitude and endless smile. Cristian Laurentiu Jalba, 41 years old, was no longer able to brake the motorcycle to avoid the car that turned in front of him in a place where this was simply forbidden. Condolences to the family and friends”, wrote another friend of the policeman.

A 35-year-old woman, a passenger on the two-wheeler, is in serious condition.

The one who caused the accident, a 25-year-old man, made a U-turn directly from the first lane. He had not consumed alcohol, say the police.
