Irina Begu (32 years old) took the big step and operated on her nose in a surgical intervention that was not only aesthetic, but also to eliminate the causes that caused her nasal congestion and breathing problems.

The intervention was successful, and Irina got rid not only of medical problems but also of a complex that followed her for years. The operation took place at the end of September, after Irina won the Țiriac Open trophy, from Bucharest.

Begu (WTA No. 34) is looking really good after last year’s surgery and is looking in good shape as she returns to tennis after more than three months, advancing to the second round in Adelaide.

Irina passed the American Shelby Rogers, world number 47, in the first round, score 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1.

In the second round, Begu will compete with the winner of the match between the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, ranked 18th in the world, and the Czech athlete Karolina Pliskova, ranked 31st in the world.

For reaching the eighth, Begu will receive 11,145 dollars and 55 WTA points.
