Priests and believers from the five dioceses of Prahova county participated on Saturday in the traditional Flower Pilgrimage, which took place in Ploiești. This year, the Most Reverend Father Paisie Sinait, Patriarchal Vicar Bishop, was among the faithful.

“The Procession of Flowers itself also has the role of blessing the place, the citadel or the respective city,” said Patriarchal Vicar Bishop Paisie Sinaitul, who led the pilgrimage organized on the eve of the celebration of the Lord’s Entry into Jerusalem.

Reverend Father Paisie explained that the Lord’s entry into Jerusalem was “humble and triumphant at the same time”.

“Humble, because He who has heaven as his seat and the earth as his footstool, and He who is carried by the Cherubim and praised by the Seraphim, humbles Himself and walks on the donkey’s colt.”

The Flower Pilgrimage included the following route: Saint Gheorghe Vechi Church – Independence Boulevard – Administrative Palace ~ Saint John the Baptist Church ~ Republic Boulevard – to Saint Vasile Church.

At this last place of worship there was, at the end, a concert of songs specific to the Great Lent period, supported by a group of priests and singers from the parishes of Ploiești Nord and Ploiești Sud parishes.
